Meet The Designer/Founder
Born in Nigeria and now based in the United Kingdom, Alero Akporido is the creative mind behind Aromastaples.
Her eye is naturally drawn to strong silhouettes, quintessential fabric combinations and the kind of detail that gives a garment its character. She believes clothing should be tailored to the style of the wearer while enhancing confidence, individuality and refined authenticity.
As Founder and Creative Director, Alero shapes each collection and remains closely involved in the development of every design, from the first sketch and fabric choice to fittings, styling and final presentation.
Her vision for Aromastaples remains personal and ambitious, ‘‘to build a trusted fashion house with a recognisable point of view, creating clothing that people feel proud to wear and remember long after the occasion has passed’’.
A NOTE FROM ALERO
I did not begin Aromastaples with a grand plan. It started with something I genuinely enjoyed using my university holidays to explore fabrics, develop ideas and create clothes.
Over time, I realised that what mattered to me was not only making a beautiful garment, but understanding the person who would wear it. I wanted each piece to feel thoughtful, comfortable and true to its wearer.
That still guides the way I work today.
Every design carries a part of the Aromastaples journey, and I am grateful to every person who chooses to make the brand a part of their own story.
